Love Your Enemy

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.  – Matthew 5:43-45

I don’t know about you, but these words of Jesus are among some of the most difficult for me to truly believe.  Miracles, such as turning water into wine, or healing the sight of a blind man I accept as possible.   But thinking of loving someone who has truly hurt me – who has done something evil to my family.   That can make my blood freeze.  Love my enemy?  Pray for those who persecute us?  There is no mistake. This is the command of our Lord, our Savior, our King: Jesus Christ.

Join us as we conclude the Elim Grace Church four part series “I Am My Brother’s Keeper”  with Pastor Jonathan Evans bringing us the words of Christ and teaching what it means to love our enemy and how such a thing is truly possible with Jesus Christ.
