In Matthew 9:35, when Jesus looked out upon the crowds, he had compassion for them – saying to his disciples, “They are harassed and helpless like Sheep without a Shepherd” Jesus then went on to command the disciples to pray that God the Father would send more “workers” into the field to gather the harvest.
