God’s way of promotion can often be demotion.   As Jesus said in Mark 9, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”  Servant of All isn’t an eye catching job title.  Not many of us have that on our linkedIn byline.  We swim in a cultural river of personal independence and personal kingship.  We rule ourselves.  Or so we often think.
