The book of Ruth is fascinating.  God is at work everywhere yet rarely directly mentioned.  His covenant love through providential control of nature and people is on display as God brings about his purposes to rescue through two women, the people of Israel through King David, and through David's line the whole of creation through Jesus Christ!
