Rerouting // The Dangers of a Customized God
Imagine you’re driving to a destination you’ve never visited. You open your GPS, but instead of letting it guide you, you start customizing the route. You mute alerts you don’t like. You reroute around roads that seem inconvenient. You even end up editing the destination itself, because the original one requires passing through difficult areas. You feel in control, you feel comfortable, but now you’re not even going where you originally intended to go!
Customization in many cases is helpful or at least enjoyable. But what happens if we start to customize the call to follow Jesus? Join us as our apprentice, Jonathan Cool, preaches from 2nd Timothy on the danger in customizing our faith in God.
